We had a gig booked in Liskeard in Cornwall, at a little place called The Barley Sheaf. We'd planned it pretty well - I'd worked out that it was maybe 5 hours away and that we could pick up the hire car at 1pm and have it back by the same time next day so only have to pay for one day.
Unfortunately, we didn't figure in the Heath Factor - which threw things into disarray when he reported we'd have to go pick up his guitar from the East side of London - not far from where we were staying but on the other side of town from where we'd just picked up the car.
So in the middle of the day we had to drive through the middle of London down unfamiliar streets, and two hours later arrived to pick up Tim's guitar.
When then had the long drive around the London Orbital (M25) to get BACK to where we'd just picked up the car and then onwards to Cornwall.
We were very very late.
