No use for a plant pot!. A record saved from the dustbin!
Jack Leon's Dance Band. "Dust". 1930.
Every now and again a box of records appears at a flea market and the old paper and cardboard covers are sorted through with eager anticipation!. True collectors will know the heart pounding pleasure of this 'thrill of the hunt' usually during early Sunday mornings when the majority of normal folk are tucked up in bed enjoying a sleep in!.
A box appeared last sunday at North Cave, East Yorkshire. I was very pleased to find this, but alas, I took it out of the cover and.....!!!$%**!!. I think it has been broken for many years. I searched in vain for the broken piece but no!.
It didn't cost me anything but i would gladly have paid a fair price for this. Anyway, all is not lost and please enjoy what remains! Luckily, Jack Plant's great vocal remains complete.
The Piccadilly label is a joy to look at in itself. The song is called 'Dust' and it was from the early talkie "Children of Pleasure". It was recorded in August 1930.
