Owslebury Handbell Team (Hampshire, UK) Rehearsal July 2007 - Played on a restored set of English Handbells, being a mixture of 20th Century Whitechapel/Mears origin and 19th Century William Blews bells. William Blews made handbells in Birimingham, UK, betweeen about 1865 and 1880. The Owslebury Handbell Team was formed about 10 years ago when the bells were rediscovered in St Andrews Church. At that time a new village hall was being built and the post office was operating from the vestry. Our enterprising postmistress persuaded several villagers to meet for an impromptu ring and so a team was formed. Originally we had only 15 bells but over the years we have done a lot of fund raising to increase the number to 25 (2 full octaves). Filmed by Anthony Peck.
