Rambling Steve Appleseed from the Hamble Delta, Old Hampshire, Old England, a frequent visitor to Wales, sings a very sad old Welsh folk song called Lisa Lan. He first heard it at school in the sixties, never forgot the melody and later searched out the words, discovering that this all but incomparable song was rare and all but forgotten. And now Kathryn Jenkins has recorded it, in Welsh!
I dedicate this English language version of the Welsh song Lisa Lan, or Lisa Larn, or Lisa Larne, or Lisa Lahn to every man who keeps his marriage vow for 10 years or more, however hard it gets, regardless of other interpretations of the song, no offense to Wales, which I love.
Guitar is in dropped D, with a short coda from a modern guitarist-say who if you know!
