Romsey Abbey tenor bell (just over 1 ton) being swung in the restored bellframe to test for frame-movement. This takes place in the bellhangers' workshop at Appleton, Oxon. The bell was cast by Thomas Mears I of Whitechapel, London, in 1791. WARNING: Ringing a bell by the method shown can be very dangerous if not done in exactly the correct way. This should only be done by someone who has been fully trained to do so.
