We were on our way south through the Scottish highlands from Orkney, in reasonably good weather when we were suddenly caught in this blizzard on the A9, close to Drumochter summit. We barely moved for an hour or so, but were eventually directed slowly in to Dalwhinnie village where after another hour or two in the car were given shelter in the community centre with lots of hot tea.
