These lambs were very pleased to see me walking towards their enclosure, next to the farmer's house. They were so happy, they ran and jumped for joy. I thought it might have been because I have a beard. Traditionally shepherds had beards and selection for a liking for beards might have occurred because sheep will have been bred partly for their tendency to remain close to the shepherd. Also, of course, these ones will have been fed from a bottle. I can imagine them thinking, 'Where's the milk?'
