I often think that the tameness of the animals that live among people says something about the character of the community. So, when you approach a place and cats run away, that suggests someone has been scaring them and they don't trust people. This blackbird isn't very worried by me although it is making alarm calls. I remember when I couldn't tell the difference between a blackbird and a starling and this clip shows well the characteristic hopping of members of the thrush family, which includes robins - bobbing along. Starlings walk , have smaller tails and hold them lower. This one seems to be a juvenile male because I don't remember a hen blackbird calling like this and the tail is quite black whereas the juvenile female has a brown tail.
